iPads Will Not Support New Home Architecture
As we saw in Beta 1 of iPadOS 16, Some codes note that Apple might be planning to drop Home hub support for iPads in the upcoming update, but Apple has officially reacted to it. The Verge has been reached out to Apple authorities, and Apple spokesperson Catherine Franklin responded that “iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will continue to support iPad as a home hub with no loss in functionality”. According to the spokesperson, iPads will be able to use support Home Hub after the update with all the functionality, and as we know, the update will come with the new architecture. And iPads will not support that new architecture for some reasons, and users who rely on iPad for Home Hub are suggested to shift to other supported devices. Franklin’s statement, “Alongside these releases, the Home app will introduce a new architecture for an even more efficient and reliable experience. Because iPad will not be supported as a home hub with the new architecture, users who rely on iPad for that purpose do not need to update the Home architecture and can continue enjoying all existing features”. Besides, as we expected from iPadOS 16 before the WWDC event, Apple added new multitasking features that allow us to remove & manage apps from the Home Screen and ultimately added an App Library. And there will be some iOS 16 features that iPadOS 16 users can use, such as the capability to edit, undo, and unread messages on iMessage, iCloud Shared Photo Library, and Live Text in Video.
