What Is the Best Kuki Shinobu Build in Genshin Impact?

Initially, her release was met with mixed reactions, since the cast of top-tier healers in the game are available in a wide variety of teams. Despite this, Kuki Shinobu adds solid depth in teams while not being too overpowering, similar to Yun Jin’s release at the beginning of the year. Like any character in Genshin Impact, seeking out the correct artifacts and weapons is important in achieving optimal performance. However, her gear isn’t that hard to obtain and overall may not require as much investment into artifact domains as other characters. Here’s what you need to know about building her effectively and optimally to get the most out of the Arataki Gang’s deputy leader.

Weapons

As of patch 2.7, there are no swords that increase a character’s max HP–a stat that you’ll want to look out for when building her. However, there are still a good number of options for weapons for her to use that will unlock the maximum potential of Genshin Impact’s newest healer. The premier sword for a support playstyle is the 5-star Freedom-Sworn, which has amazing passive skills and grants a lot of Elemental Mastery, which helps Kuki Shinobu’s healing and her damage in reaction-based teams after you unlock her second ascension passive, Heart’s Repose. This passive gives her healing a boost based on 75% of her Elemental Mastery, and also a damage increase based on 25% of that same stat. While it’s not that impressive in practice, it gives us another stat that can be useful when determining what artifacts are worth keeping. However, players that only have one copy may opt to keep it on a character that benefits greatly from its stats, like Kaedehara Kazuha. Another 5-star option is the Primordial Jade Cutter for its 20% HP increase and Crit Rate stat. However, there are 4-star weapons that provide better overall utility, and other characters with more offensive roles that can make better use of it.  For 4-star weapons, the Iron Sting is a solid free-to-play option that’s available at the blacksmith. It offers Elemental Mastery, which helps Kuki Shinobu’s healing output and the strength of her reactions with other elements, and the ores used to forge it can be readily found all around Teyvat. Another option is the Favonius Sword, which can be used to give lots of energy particles to some of the energy-hungry characters that have been released as of late.

Artifacts

Because Kuki Shinobu’s main feature—her healing—scales off of her max HP, we can quickly narrow down what artifact sets are the most optimal for her. Arguably her best option is the 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set for a support playstyle, which offers a 2-piece set bonus of +20% HP, and a unique off-field 4-piece set bonus that off-field characters can take advantage of to deliver buffs to the character currently on the field.  While the 30% shield strength increase of the full Millelith set may not be fully utilized, as a shielder may not always be present, the 20% attack bonus is a notable enough buff to make an impact overall in a character’s damage-dealing capabilities, similar to how the Noblesse Oblige set works. If your team doesn’t have a character running Noblesse Oblige, you can equip Kuki Shinobu with it, but the 4-piece Millelith set has more utility for teams to take advantage of. It’s the most recommended set for a support Zhongli, but characters like Fischl can also take advantage of the 4-piece set bonus thanks to Oz’s damage and electro application while she is off-field.  For players that may not have access to the Ridge Watch domain where the Millelith set can be found, or for players under Adventure Rank 45, a 4-piece instructor set can also be used to buff up Kuki Shinobu’s Elemental Mastery stat. Additionally, a 4-piece Exile set can work for energy-starved characters, but the best artifact options are ones that emphasize her max HP and Elemental Mastery stat. Another option is to mix different 2-piece effects. A 2-piece Millelith set alongside a 2-piece Wanderer’s Troupe can be an easy combo at low investment, as Kuki Shinobu’s second ascension passive boosts her elemental skill’s abilities based on her Elemental Mastery stat. Additionally, players can easily obtain Wanderer’s Troupe pieces by defeating world bosses, making it an easy recommendation for players that may be prioritizing building other characters.  For artifact main stats and sub-stats, Kuki Shinobu makes great use of HP and Elemental Mastery stats, so look for those when farming artifacts. Other great options include Energy Recharge, Healing Bonus, and Crit Rate if you’re using a Favonius Sword to consistently trigger the weapon’s effect. And that wraps up our guide on how to get the most value out of the Arataki Gang’s deputy leader through effective artifact building and weapon selection.
